Headaches seem to be coming up more and more as a challenge people are facing. Tension headaches and migraines are the most commonly reported. Below are a few ways to support your noggin.
Drink more water. Studies have shown that dehydration is a very common cause of tension headaches and migraines.
Magnesium. A natural muscle relaxer, it is also a mineral necessary for countless functions in the body, including blood sugar control and nerve transmission. Evidence suggests that magnesium deficiency is more common in people who get frequent migraine headaches, compared to those who don’t. Best absorbed through the skin in the bath or foot soak.
Sleep. Getting between 7-9 hours of shut eye each night is proven to help prevent headaches.
Yoga. Not only does yoga help support the body's natural defenses towards headaches but it also helps manage stress. Head to the video library to check out the Headache Release videos.
Essential Oils. A great way to help relieve a headache. Peppermint oil on your temples and lavender oil on your upper lip are great ways to offer relief. Alternatively grab a 'Headache Release Pulse Point' Oil from our Aromatherapist, Susie, at the Mother's Day Markets on 30 April.
